Kate Lackey Wideman
Kate Lackey-Wideman attended Washington College from 1988-1995. She graduated with a Bachelors in Business Management. While attending Washington College she worked in the Business Office, and worked at the local Acme Market as a Customer Service Representative. While attending WC, Kate had quite a challenge to overcome as she lost her mother and father in the middle of her junior year and decided to move to Florida to be near her older brother. After moving to Florida though, she realized that not finishing her education would be a huge mistake, so she returned with the encouragement of her professors, friends, and the student faculty and is extremely grateful for the education that she received.
She then went on to work full-time for Bank of America for almost 12 years as a Senior Personal Banker and most recently has started her own direct sales company with United First Financial. She started the group for WC on LinkedIn originally as a project centered around a professional course that she took that taught her about Web 2.0, social networking, and branding yourself online. Since then the group has grown to 451 members, and is growing daily. The years she spent at WC and her ZTA sisters were some of the most memorable times of her life. When she saw there was no group on LinkedIn for WC Alumni, she felt compelled to create one, and to her surprise more and more Alumni were eager to join. Kate now lives in the Tampa Bay area in Central West Florida with her husband Danny, her dog Lucky, and her cat Precious, but still remains sentimental about the years that she spent on the beautiful Eastern Shore of MD and the quaint town of Chestertown.
